Who We Are

We are registered community based organization in Bumasikye Sub county, Mbale District, Uganda under Reg. No 3456.

Kimwanga Widows Project was founded in 2012 by a seasoned community worker Papa Solomon Shisa to support vulnerable elderly widows.

Why We Exist?

In Uganda, widows are left helpless after their husbands die. They are grabbed off land and other properties that their late husbands lives behind. They have no access to basic needs such as health care, shelter, clothing and food. Worst of all, they human rights are abused and most common of all, many widows battle with illnesses amidst no support, no income yet with less energy to work.

These among other reasons were the purposes why this project was invertible and through partners and well-wishers, we can pull together resources, pray for and preach hope to widows so they can sustain their elderly living.
